Kevin Clapson

Head Dance Teacher

Kevin is a Fellow and Examiner of UKA Dance Ltd.        
 
He is a Dance Instructor, UK and International Adjudicator, Competition organiser, Compere and DJ.

Kevin started dancing at the age of 6 at his parents dance studio in Hastings, East Sussex.  He completed his medals through the ISTD and then went on to compete worldwide in many major competitions, winning many.

As a Junior he was a finalist at the International Ballroom Championships, and was runner up in the British Open Youth Ballroom Championships.

He was finalist in the US Open Amateur Ballroom Championships and was 2 times All England Professional Ballroom Champion.

Having retired from competitions he travelled the world, teaching and demonstrating on cruise ships, journeys took him around the world several times on famous cruise liners including the QE2.

Kevin now lives in Ashford, Kent. He teaches all levels of dancers from beginners to competitors including those training for professional examinations.  He enjoys sharing his vast knowledge and experience from having lessons himself from many famous dancing legends.

Are competitive Ballroom & Latin amateur dancers who like to share their passion of dance with others. 

 

In their competitive field they have:

** Won the WDC World Latin Championship in Disney Paris. in Dec 2015 they also won this event in 2013, 2012, 2011. Chris & Diana also came 5th in the World Ballroom in Paris Dec 2015.

** 1st in Latin 6th Ballroom in France St Just St Rambert Grand Prix April 2018

** 1st in World Masters Latin & WDC AL Open Austria - Innsbruck March 2018

** 1st in Ballroom & Latin in Blackpool All England Grand Prix Feb 2018.

** 3rd in Latin & Ballroom - Brabant Cup Latin Belgium - Herent Over 40's masterclass Dec 2017

** 4th in Latin 6th Ballroom - Spanish Dance Festival Spain - Tarragona

** In April 2016 travelled to Athens to perform a showdance which was also streamed live to 16 countries​ .

** 1st in WDC European Cup in Latin held in France.

** 2nd in European Cup Combined 2015, 1st European Argentine Tango, and 2nd European Cha Cha Cha held in Spain.

** 1st in WDC European Latin cup 2013 & 2014 and third in the Ballroom event in Innsbruck Austria.

** 1st in WDC Ten dance Championship in Kyiv Ukraine 2013.

** Top 24 in Ballroom at the Nationals at Blackpool 2012

** Previous Latin finalists in The Nationals at Blackpool.
